What are PDO First Lift, BARB and BARB 4D?

Absorbable PDO First Lift BARB and BARB 4D threads are one of the most spectacular non-invasive tissue lifting methods currently available on the beauty market. They effectively correct lower parts of the face, eyebrows and neck.

These threads are made of absorbable PDO (polydioxanone) material, being a strong synthetic monofilament thread. They come with specially designed microscopic hooks (barbs) with unique length and space between single barbs, enabling the lifting effect. Once implanted, the threads act like a new scaffolding for flabby tissues.

In BARB 4D threads, the barbs extend in four dimensions around the suture, in this way even more intensifying the supporting results.

Moreover, PDO enhances the process of neocollagenesis, meaning stimulation of collagen production. At the same time, energised by PDO fibroblasts cause the increase of both the level of elasticin and natural hyaluronic acid.

First Lift BARB and BARB 4D threads both intensively revitalise and and lift soft tissues.

What does the procedure look like?

During a sterile procedure the doctor injects a unique conductor needle with the thread inserted inside into the target skin area. The treatment is performed under local anaesthetic, lasts for about 15-20 minutes and is practically painless. Immediately after the procedure patient leaves the clinic.

How long do the effects last?

The threads dissolve after about 6-8 months, while the implantation effects last for about 18 months.

Can First Lift PDO be combined with other treatments?

Yes, First Lift PDO can be combined with botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid and other treatments. The doctor in charge of the treatment will decide about the time intervals between particular procedures.
